We had a great time this morning cheering 1000s of Little Rock Marathon runners as they passed our cheer station at Carver. We've been doing this for the past four years. The weather was perfect this year and we all got a great workout dancing to the 80's music that we blasted from the school's speakers!
We had our 2nd Annual Black History Program at Carver today. We were entertained by 4th and 5th grade Carver Students with a wonderful rendition of Glory. Mackenzie transformed into Bessie Coleman and we learned about her life. Mrs. Denise Ennett talked to our students about pursuing their dreams and the Righteous Poets led by Mr. and Ms. MacAdoo performed their art for us to enjoy. It was a great day all around. Thank you Mrs. Whittington and Mr. Murry and all the others on the Black History Committee for putting this program together!
NBA Hall of Fame Legend Sidney Moncrief visited Carver's Young Gents Club at their weekly meeting. Coach Moncrief shared with the students about how they need to be relentless in all that they do. Coach Moncrief and his consultant team is also working with the Carver Staff this year too.
